An Inspirational bit of Troop History.
Council Report dated 2003
Joshua Anderson Age: 13 Life Scout Troop 124 Chartered to Raymore Christian Church
Joshua Anderson was a first responder in an auto accident involving his mother, his sister, and himself. Josh gave detailed location and injury information to 911 dispatchers. Drawing upon his emergency preparedness and first aid merit badge training, Josh made sure his sister was comfortable, and then used his hands as a neck brace to stabilize and align his mother’s neck and spine until paramedics arrived. A seven-year Scouting veteran, Josh said, “I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn't had Boy Scout training.”
In recognition of his quick, calm thinking under pressure, Joshua was awarded a Certificate of Merit and Medal in a National Court of Honor.
