This is our annual end-of-school-year celebration; all Scouts advance to the next rank as we transition into our Summer program. This ceremony is special because the boys not only transition to the next rank, they also welcome the younger Scouts into their old rank by presenting them with new neckerchiefs. This is a symbol of unity and friendship.
Boy Scout Troop 124 and Cub Scout Pack 124 joined thousands of fellow Kansas City-area Scouts at the Kansas Speedway at Scouting 500, May 16-18 2014. The boys camped for three days and participated in dozens of challenging events ranging from rock wall climbing to zip lines, welding, emergency vehicles and even a dose of puppy love. Boy Scouts from Troop 124 visited Camp Bartle to help set up tents and cots at camp Sawmill, their summer home for 10 days this July. The boys explored trails between Piercing Arrow, Sawmill and Lone Star camp sites, visited the point, cooked lunch on the trail and taught younger Scouts about summer camp and the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. #bartle #summercamp #serviceproject
